"Participating in KC READS (Reach Out and Read) showed me how important it is to read to children. I got the chance to talk with one parent about the interest her son showed during our reading time and also reading to her five month old daughter shows that no matter the age, KC READS (Reach Out and Read) captures children of every age. It was a great experience."

"I had a great time last Wednesday. The people at the clinic were so friendly, and they had the books, activities, etc., all ready for me when I got there. The kids all seemed very enthusiastic about reading; many of them raced over to the bookshelf to pick out a story as soon as they walked in to the waiting room! I had a great time and I'm so glad to be a part of this project. Thanks."

"A 6-year-old girl was here for a well child check. She was upset after receiving a shot. She asked through tears if she could do to the "Reading Room". I said, you mean the "Waiting Room?" She replied, "NO, the Reading Room." We stopped by the book cart and picked up a book and went to the waiting room. I asked, "Is this where you wanted to go?" She said "yes" as she walked toward a volunteer foster grandmother (our reader)."

"My 7-year-old grandson, a graduate of the ROR program, just said to me, "Grandma, have you ever been so excited about a book that you couldn't wait to turn the page?" He loves reading! Reach Out and Read is great!"
